Wi-Fi hotspots are very useful when you want to share your device’s internet connection with others. Android 4.4 Kitkat just like other Android version have got the option to create a Wi-Fi hotspot which will let you share your cellular connection with others by using hotspot.

Creating hotspots in Android 4.4 Kitkat is very easy and takes seconds. You can share your cellular network’s 3G/4G connection with others using Wi-Fi where others can use that connection like they would use a Wi-fi connection.

Simply follow the instructions below to setup and start sharing your device’s cellular internet with others using hotspot.

Instructions:

  • First of all, open up ‘Settings’> ‘More’. Your ‘Wireless & networks’ menu will open.
  • Here press ‘Tethering & portable hotspot’.

  • You would see the option of ‘Portable Wi-Fi hotspot’. Check it.

  • Your Wi-Fi hotspot has been created and turned on.
  • Now, if you want to configure the hotspot name and its password then, press ‘Set up Wi-Fi hotspot’. Here you can select the id, security type and password of hotspot.

  • Once a hotspot in running, you will see the hotspot icon in the notifications bar.
