GPS and other location services have always been a major source of battery drainage for smartphones but, with Android 4.4 Kitkat, you can now use the GPS and still get regular battery life.
Android 4.4 Kitkat has got an awesome feature which lets you choose the battery saving mode which will use the location services only when needed instead of keeping them on all the time. This feature also lets you use normal location services without affecting your battery life.
Follow the instructions below to use the Android 4.4 Battery saving technique and still use GPS.
First of all, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Location’.
Turn ‘on’ the location services by moving the slider switch to right.
Once turned on, press ‘Mode’.
You will get three different options. Choose ‘Batter saving’.
Note: Battery saving uses the mobile and Wi-Fi networks for location services which can save battery.
Once chosen, your phones’ different apps and services will start using location services without draining the battery.
Note: If you think the location services are not working correctly then you may choose ‘High accuracy’ for ultimate performance. But, this can result in battery drainage.
