When you are working on any app and then you need to either close down the currently running app or to go back to previous screen or app, you may be required to close the app by going through the same steps, as was required to open it. But, in Android Marshmallow, a feature helps you to cross through all the previous steps to close down the currently running app with just one tap. You may kill the currently running app with just tapping back key button, provided you have activated this feature.

It is easier to activate this feature with few steps but if you need help, see the instructions.

Instructions

1: Tap the icon of the ‘Settings’ app, placed at the bottom-right corner of the Home screen of your Android Marshmallow smartphone or tablet to move to the ‘Settings’ screen.2: At the ‘Settings’ screen, scroll down to the ‘Device’ section and tap the ‘Buttons’.3: At the ‘Buttons’ screen, scroll down to the ‘Other’ section and see; the ‘Kill app back button’ is not checked, i.e. not activated and enabled. Read the details of the ‘Kill app back button’ which explains that to kill the currently running app, what you need to do it just long press or tap the back key button for a while. And that’s all for the app.4: Tap the ‘Kill app back button’ and now, you may kill or close the currently running app or screen with a little longer pressing of the back key button.5: Now, to check the working of this feature, tap any app to open and then tap the back key button for a while and see; a tool tip will inform you that the App is killed.6: Similarly, if you have activated the navigation bar, you may kill the app with pressing of back button on the navigation bar for a little longer and the same message of ‘App killed’ will appear in the tool tip.That’s all!
