Android 4.4.4 Kitkat has got a couple of nice and awesome features including the ability peek at the notifications by using the heads up display feature. Heads up display show a pop-up preview of the upcoming notification just below the notifications bar.
You can’t just take a peek at the notifications but, you can also expand a certain notification to view the details without the need to swipe down from the notifications bar to view them. Enabling Heads up notifications is very easy and take seconds.
Heads up notifications also come with the configuration like when the notifications should appear and which apps should show the heads up notifications.
Simply follow the instructions below to enable heads up notification using Android 4.4.4 Kitkat.
Instructions:

First of all, launch ‘Settings’ and open ‘Notifications Drawer‘ settings.

Here you will see the ‘Heads up’ option, Press it.

Turn it ‘ON’ by moving the slider switch to right.

That’s all! Your heads up notifications have been enabled.
How to configure the behavior of the Heads up Notifications?
Once you turn on the heads up option, you will see two different items.

‘Do not disturb’ which lets you select on which apps the heads up notifications won’t show while using.

‘Blacklist’ lets you configure the apps from which the notifications won’t be showed in heads up display.
