There is no one in the world who don’t listen to music tracks on their mobile devices. But, sometimes we come across some songs whose names are unknown or they are new to us. Knowing their names becomes impossible by just listening for the first time but, don’t worry there is an app for Android which will listen the music track being played and let you know the name of it.
If you are one of the people who want to identify a new music track being played then, you may follow the instructions below.
Before proceeding to the instructions, you will need to fulfill few requirements mentioned after the break.
Requirements:

You will need to install the free SoundTracking app from Play Store which can be downloaded from here.

You will need to have a Wi-Fi or data connection access to internet for the app to recognize the music track being played.

You will need to create a free account in the app using your Twitter/Facebook/Foursquare/Email.
Now, let’s proceed to the steps.
Instructions:

Whenever you want to identify a music track, simply launch the app and press the Music icon on top right corner of the app.

You would be showed three pop-up icons, here press the microphone icon.

The app will start listening to the song being played.
Tip:It is recommended that you put the microphone of your Android phone near to the point from where the sound is being generated. The more quitter the environment, the more accurate the app will be in identifying the track.

After listening, the app will start searching for the music track on the internet.
Note: The app recognizes almost all English music tracks but, it may not be able to identify songs in other languages. I was able to identify 5 songs out of 7 search tries I made using the app.
- Once searched, you would be showed the result in the form of music track where the name and artist of the track will also be showed.

More things the app can do:

You can also select to search the music track being played on your device or search by titles. Once selected, you can share the track to the SoundTracking followers or even on the social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

You can also see the sound tracks shared by the people you follow and like and comment on them as well.
Now, you don’t have to search for the names of the tracks being played anymore.
