Some people do not like dialpad tone while others love and prefer to hear dialpad tones. Dialpad tone plays an important role in the mobile operation as it produces a sound when any key is touched by finger, confirming the user that a key has been touched and activated. On the other hand, some of the people do not like touch tones, preferring the silence while working on Android device.

Keeping in view the need of the users, Android has added a feature in Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system in which you may enable / disable the dialpad tones, as per need, desire or requirement of the user.

You may activate / deactivate dialpad tones by just one tap of finger. If need is felt, you may see the instructions.

Instructions

1: Tap the icon of the ‘Phone Dialer’ app on the Home screen of your Android 5.1 Lollipop device to open up ‘Phone Dialer’ screen.LollipopDialPad-12: At the ‘Phone Dialer’ screen, tap the settings button, placed at the top right corner of the screen. It will open up a popup menu.LollipopDialPad-23: Tap ‘Settings’ in the popup menu.LollipopDialPad-34: At the ‘Settings’ screen, tap ‘General’.LollipopDialPad-45: At the ‘General’ screen, see the ‘Dialpad tones’ under the ‘Sounds and vibrate’ is not checked, i.e. no enabled. It means, currently, when you will tap any key of your Android device, no sound will be produced.LollipopDialPad-56: If you want to enable the dialpad tones, tap the ‘Dialpad tones’ to check and enable.LollipopDialPad-6From now onward, whenever you will tap any key of your Android device, the dialpad tone will inform you that a key has been touched and taped.
