Awareness of the public network has always been a problem for the mobile device users as some of public networks may be free. The free or at reduced cost public networks may be a blessing for the bill conscious people.

To help the mobile users to notify about the availability of the public networks, a feature is added in the Android 6,0.x Marshmallow, like its previous versions, which will, if activated, notify the users about them.

It is easier to activate the notification but if you feel the need, the instructions are there to help you.

Instructions

1. Tap the icon of the ‘Settings’ at the bottom right corner of your Android 6.0.x Marshmallow smartphone and device to open up the ‘Settings’ screen.MarshmallowNetworkNotification-12. Go to ‘Wi-Fi’ screen by tapping the ‘Wi-Fi’ under the ‘Wireless & networks’ section to confirm that the ‘Wi-Fi’ is connected.

3. At the top right corner of the ‘Wi-Fi’ screen, tap the 3-digit settings button to open up the popup menu.MarshmallowNetworkNotification-24.
