Some of the Android devices are purchased just to use for the private communication and the undue interference, like the calls or messages from the numbers unknown to the device, are not liked. Some people do not like the calls from the numbers not in the contact list. In Android devices, a feature has been added in order to preserve your privacy and to block calls or messages from the numbers which are not in the contact list of the receiving device.

Instructions

Command Line: Settings – Home > Privacy – PERSONAL > Blacklist.

1: Tap the icon of the ‘Settings’ on the Home screen of your Android 4.4.4 KitKat device to open up the ‘Settings’ screen. KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-12: At the ‘Settings’ screen, scroll down to the PERSONAL section and tap the ‘Privacy’.KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-23: At the ‘Privacy’ screen, see the status of the ‘Blacklist’ is ‘Disabled’. If you want to change the status, tap the ‘Blacklist’.KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-34: At the ‘Blacklist’ screen, see the blacklist, placed at the top right corner of the screen, is switched OFF. Further see the message from the Android informs you that if you want to blacklist some of the numbers, enable the blacklist.KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-45: To enable the blacklist, tap and drag the switch ON. See immediately after the ‘Blacklist’ is switched ON, the message from the Android is also changed and now is informing you that currently you do not have any blacklisted number. To change the status, tap the settings button, placed at the bottom right corner of the screen. See further that the textual options at the blacklist screen are also changed. KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-56: See the current status of the ‘Unknown numbers’ is; ‘Don’t block calls or messages from numbers not in the contact list. If you want to change the status of the ‘Unknown numbers’ tap it. It will open up a prompt. KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-67: See the ‘block incoming calls’ and the ‘Block incoming messages’, both are not checked, i.e. disabled. It means currently device is not set to block both incoming messages and calls. KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-78: You may check ‘Block incoming calls’ or the ‘Block incoming messages’ or both at the ‘Unknown numbers’ prompt and tap OK to confirm and save the changes. It will take you back to the ‘Blacklist’ screen.KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-89: See the status of ‘Unknown numbers’ is changed to ‘Block incoming calls and messages from numbers not in the contact list’.KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-9If you have enabled the blocking of the incoming calls only, the change in the status will be different.KitKat-Unknown-Numbers-11If you have blocked the incoming messages only, the change in the status will inform you that the incoming messages will be blocked.
