Android 4.4 Kitkat has got a lot of awesome features and many improvements have been made in the phone app where dialer has got many exciting options. One of the feature is to dial a contact’s number by just typing their name on the dialer which will show you their phone number.
Previously, we had to fetch the contact from phonebook and then call them but, with Android 4.4 Kitkat, you can simply type their name and their phone number will appear in suggestions.
Follow the instructions below to know how to dial a contact no. by typing their name on the dialer.
Instructions:

First of all, open up the phone app and expand dialer. Here type the name of the person you want to call e.g. Ahmad which shows all the contacts named ‘Ahmad’ along with the phone numbers.

You can tap any contact number to call it right away.
Note: It is to be noted that contact should be saved in your phonebook to use quick dial option.
